Chatbot or AI agent: compare what the solution can actually do.
An FAQ chatbot answers questions with prepared content. An AI agent can connect conversation to purchase state and authorized actions. Capabilities differ across products; a label alone does not prove an integration.

| Capability | FAQ without transactional integration | Zyon's approach |
|---|---|---|
| Product information | Prepared answer content | Store catalog and registered information |
| Next step | Answer or referral | Recommendations and checkout guidance |
| Discounts | Explains a policy without applying it | Conditions subject to commercial validation |
| Payment | Refers to another flow | Journey connected to enabled providers |
| Limits | Depend on configuration | Depend on plan, data, and store rules |
Not every chatbot is just an FAQ
Chatbots may also offer tools, integrations, and purchasing flows. This table compares an FAQ without transactional integration, not every product called a chatbot. Check actual behavior before choosing.
Questions for a useful demonstration
- Does it consult current catalog information?
- Does it explain a condition or validate it?
- Does the buyer see the total and confirm before paying?
- What happens when stock, shipping, or provider confirmation is missing?
- Which features depend on a plan or an additional integration?
Choose for the work you need done
For recurring questions with little context, an FAQ may be enough. For product selection and purchases, evaluate the catalog, rules, and checkout together. Test real products, including situations where the correct answer is to explain a limit.
